Bucharest, 4 March: Chairman of the Romanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry George Cojocaru and vice-chairman of Saudi Arabia's Riyadh Chamber of Commerce and Industry Abdul Aziz al-Athel signed a memorandum on the setting up of the bilateral Romanian-Saudi Economic Council on 3 March.

Romanian and Saudi businessmen attending an Economic Forum in Bucharest said the memorandum was the result of the interest that the two sides show in the development of cooperation in tourism, constructions, transport, agriculture, electricity and information technology.
