UK ANNOUNCES FASTER SERVICE FOR IRANIAN OIL CONTRACTS.
LONDON, March 3 Asia Pulse - The British government announced that it was providing a faster service on state cover for Iranian oil contracts to give a boost to UK exporters.
The Export Credits Guarantee Department (ECGD) said it would provide support for oil projects up to US$20 million with the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) without the need to enter into complex financial arrangements.
British companies selling capital goods or providing services to NIOC are to receive the benefit of streamlined procedures when seeking contracts up to US$20 million.
The decision follows a similar arrangement announced by the British government's credit agency last month for similarly priced contracts with the National Petrochemical Company of Iran (NPC).
