IRAN AMONG FEW COUNTRIES PRODUCING LASER CRYSTALS.
TEHRAN, March 3 Asia Pulse - Iran is one of the few countries in the world that is capable of manufacturing crystals used in producing solid lasers, a laser research center official told IRNA Saturday.
Deputy head of the country's state Laser Research Center, affiliated to the Atomic Energy Organization, referring to the research work done to produce solid laser, and to cultivate crystals, told IRNA, "the substance in which such lasers function is either the crystals, or the solid substances."
Engineer Fereydoun Soltan-Moradi further elaborated on the nature of solid lasers, arguing, "among such lasers I can refer to the 'neodymium ugh laser' which was produced at this center for the first time in Iran.
"This laser is used both in industries, and for medical purposes."
