Heeding a call in the introduction to my catalog of the new Stravinsky collection at the University of British Columbia (UBC) some nine months even before its publication, (1) and upon my recommendation, Kirsten Walsh, librarian of the university's School of Music, acquired on 4 July 2001 a newspaper photograph (8.8 cm X 7.6 cm including margins) of the composer (1882-1971) accompanying his autograph musical quotation on a sheet of paper, 13.4 cm X 22.7 cm (fig. 1). This purchase nicely complements the 123 items in the collection I recently donated to UBC.
