A FORMER stripogram turned charity worker has appealed for people in the North West to support a fundraising event for orphans in Bosnia.

Laurence Wilkie used to make a living from stripping in pubs and clubs throughout the region, but has now turned his attention to raising money for charity after an inspirational visit to the Catholic shrine of Medgugorje in Bosnia three years ago.

And the Donegal man is hoping to raise thousands of pounds at a forthcoming event in Letterkenny.

Well-known local singers, Gareth Kirwin and Angela Mitchell, will top the bill at a gig at the Orchard Inn on Thursday, April 10.
