(From Belfast Telegraph)
Byline: Alf McCreary
A BELFAST couple who celebrate their 60th anniversary this weekend will mark the occasion by attending the church where they were married on March 3, 1943.
George and Jean Arnold, and a wide circle of family and friends, will attend morning service tomorrow in Whitehouse Presbyterian Church, where they have been members for over half a century.
Mrs Arnold joined in 1930, aged nine, and her husband George, a Welsh soldier whom she met when he was stationed in Belfast in 1943, became a member of Whitehouse after their marriage.
Mrs Arnold said: "I remember the weather on our wedding day. Even though it was still in the middle of winter, it was a bright and sunny day.
"The service at Whitehouse tomorrow will bring back many happy memories for all of us."
