SINN Fein has warned Government moves towards David Trimble's demands to sanction republicans will represent a "clear and present danger" to the political process.
As the Ulster Unionist Party's ruling council met in Belfast today, the Sinn Fein ard chomairle (executive) called for an end to the "dead hand" of anti-Agreement unionism.
Sinn Fein national chairperson Mitchel McLaughlin said: "It is ridiculous that ten years into this process that the unionist approach still revolves around the exclusion of republicans.
"We need to see an end to the anti-Agreement dead hand over the process and a plan for its full implementation."
His attack came after the party executive met in Dublin to discuss strategy for Monday's talks chaired by Tony Blair and Bertie Ahern, and also the elections due on May 1.
