Jill darted out of the kitchen, but her mother Beth's friend Kay stayed on. "That's funny. I heard Jill's theory as a child, but in this neighborhood that version seems quite popular," Kay said.

"How many of these old wives tales are still around?" wondered Beth. "Let's see, if you make a twisted face at me you'll get stuck in that position. An itchy right palm means money is coming your way."
