Suspect: I didn't mean to kill nurse
Yomiuri
OSAKA
The 57-year-old man who shot and killed a nurse and stabbed a doctor in the abdomen with a kitchen knife on Thursday at the Senboku Jinnai Hospital in Sakai, Osaka Prefecture, told police that he wanted to kill the director of the hospital because he bore a grudge against him, adding the hospital had treated him disrespectfully, it was learned Friday.
According to sources close to the investigation, Kazuya Umano, former head of a dissolved criminal gang, said he had not intended to kill 39-year-old Ayumi Tanaka.
Umano reportedly went to the hospital by taxi at about 2:30 p.m. and demanded to see the director, Hiroki Jinnai, threatening the head of the clerical department at gunpoint.
