The unemployment rate stood at a seasonally adjusted 5.5 percent in January, up 0.2 percentage point from the previous month, the Public Management Ministry said Friday.
The rate matched the worst ever recorded in August and October.
The unemployment rate among women increased by 0.3 percentage point from the previous month to a record high of 5.5 percent.
"Many homemakers looked for jobs due to the serious wage and employment situations encountered by their husbands, but they were unable to find any," a ministry official said.
