KUALA LUMPUR, Wed. - The Education Ministry today rapped Politeknik Ungku Omar, the country's first polytechnic, based in Ipoh for changing the dress code for its forthcoming convocation ceremony without consulting the ministry.

Education Minister Tan Sri Musa Mohamad said: "The polytechnic must write to us and get permission before they make any changes to their dress code for the convocation ceremony. We will then instruct them whether the change is acceptable or not." Musa has directed the ministry's polytechnic management division director Ibrahim Samad to investigate the matter and stop any change to the dress code …
