The simple explanation for Clemson's surge from a 2-7 ACC start to claiming a road win against Virginia was Edward Scott's brilliance at point guard. Scott scored 32 points, grabbed eight rebounds and held Virginia's Todd Billet in 1-of-9 shooting. For the week, which also included a victory over Florida State, Scott averaged 30.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 5.0 assists and shot 20-of-39 from the field--posting his two best scoring games of the season. With Scott playing with such flair, Clemson ran isolation plays for him that helped create scoring opportunities.
