Edward Scott, PG, Clemson

The simple explanation for Clemson's surge from a 2-7 ACC start to claiming a road win against Virginia was Edward Scott's brilliance at point guard. Scott scored 32 points, grabbed eight rebounds and held Virginia's Todd Billet in 1-of-9 shooting. For the week, which also included a victory over Florida State, Scott averaged 30.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 5.0 assists and shot 20-of-39 from the field--posting his two best scoring games of the season. With Scott playing with such flair, Clemson ran isolation plays for him that helped create scoring opportunities. Coach Larry Shyatt also praised Scott's defense against FSU's Tim Pickett, who shot 1-of-5 from the field and scored seven points.
