Nolan, the Nordiques' first pick (first overall) in 1990, appears to have worn out his welcome in San Jose. Rumored to be on the trading block, his goal production has dropped significantly since his career-high 44-goal season in 1999-2000. He is on pace for 28 this season, which would be his second-highest total in six years,
STRENGTHS: Nolan is a pure shooter with a Lethal one-timer. He is dangerous alongside a good playmaker, so he should be taking the shots, not setting them up. He is a decent skater without the puck and can drive to open areas. He is a weapon on the power play and has an around-the-net move that freezes most goalies. Nolan is strong and plays a physical game with a nasty edge.
WEAKNESSES: A big winger, Nolan is not a great puck carrier and won't beat defensemen with a quick move or cut to the inside. He is not great ...
