Chris Wallace didn't necessarily want to trade Shammond Williams and leave the team with only two point guards for the rest of the season, but that was the only way to fortify the front line with F/C Vin Baker providing next to nothing off the bench. Wallace acquired C Mark Blount to back up Tony Battie and PF Mark Bryant, who provides another big body as insurance. Blount left the Celtics as a free agent last summer, so he knows the system.
