Mechanic's liens in Kentucky. (Construction Corner).
INTRODUCTION
Like other states, Kentucky provides a statutory means by which contractors, subcontractors, laborers and materialmen may place a lien upon a property as a method of collection for monies due to them for labor or materials supplied to improve a property. As an effective mechanic's lien can provide leverage in collections, it is important for contractors, subcontractors, materialmen and property owners to understand the process by which an effective mechanic's lien is created. This article provides a broad overview of Kentucky law to assist in understanding the principles of Kentucky mechanic's liens.
