Trading C Damian Miller to the Cubs for two minor leaguers and 1B Erubiel Durazo to the A's as part of a four-way deal saved money because both players were eligible for arbitration. When a four-for-one deal for Rockies RF Larry Walker fell through, CF Steve Finley re-signed for two more years. And 1B Mark Grace returns for another season as a reserve.
