Shortly before 9 p.m. on January 15th, a masked youth armed with a sawed-off shotgun entered Allyanna's Pizzeria in Savannah, Georgia. Shop manager Bart Brisson and a female employee at first thought he was kidding, but quickly realized that he was serious when he took money from the cash register, and then pointed the shotgun at Brisson's face.
At that point, something caused the thug to momentarily look away, giving Brisson an opportunity to grab a .38-caliber revolver sequestered behind the counter. Brisson fired a number of shots, the first of which struck the bandit. The wounded criminal ran from the establishment, but collapsed beside a dumpster at the side of the restaurant.
