MANATEE COUNTY -- Two School Board members have begun to question the wisdom of building a high school on land that was a testing ground for experimental chemicals for four decades.
Board members have already raised concerns about costs and a "one-sided" contract, but late Monday Frank Brunner and Harry Kinnan said they may have a long way to go to convince the public the property is safe.
Their biggest concern is not that the land is tainted, rather the public's perception of it. And because of that, they fear, the public may never embrace it.
