FOR "KABAYAN" Noli de Castro, there is no conflict of interest when he serves as a senator and as a broadcaster or television host at the same time.

De Castro presented this argument before a Manila court in response to a petition by the lawyers' group Social Justice Society (SJS) which had questioned his hosting of media shows.

"There is nothing unethical or illegal for respondent to host a television program while discharging the functions of his office as senator," De Castro said in his 16-page comment dated Feb. 12.
