Americans have never been happy about the amount of money they pay in taxes. Four in ten believe their taxes will be higher even with the Republicans in control of Congress, with the same number saying they will stay about the same. When asked how much of every tax dollar is wasted, the median response is 47 cents. People say that tax reform should be a top priority. Even after Congressional action to gradually raise the amount at which the estate tax kicks in, four in ten still want the tax abolished.
