Kosice, 15 January: The Slovak Constitutional Court halted on Wednesday [15 January] the re-appointment of Stefan Harabin as Supreme Court chairman and decided to further discuss a complaint by Harabin's rival for the post, Sergej Kohut.

Kohut, who lost the December vote by the closest of margins, complained about a violation of his basic rights by the procedure applied during the vote by the Slovak Judicial Council, of which Harabin is a member (and vote holder) as incumbent Supreme Court chair.
