German troops stationed in Kuwait to help in the event of an attack using weapons of mass destruction do not have the means to analyse warfare agents themselves, but would have to send samples off to laboratories for analysis. There are also concerns that silence on the subject of whether or not they have been given smallpox vaccines could mean they would be vulnerable to such an attack.
