PVC producers are going into 2003 confident of a solid year in terms of demand. Prices are increasing and producers say their nominations for Jan are already taking effect. Energy and feedstock costs remain high, however, putting pressure on margins and making the industry cautious about possible volatility over the next few months. Domestic producers have announced price rises of 2 cts/lb for Jan. Most are also seeking a 3 cts/lb rise for Feb, although some producers are said to be asking for 2 cts/lb.
