Having survived another National Signing Day, recruiting analyst Bobby Burton of Rivals.com offers some pearls of college football wisdom.

The Big 12 South. Texas, Texas A&M, Oklahoma State and Oklahoma all had classes in the top 15 nationally. They just keep cranking it up. It's fair to say the Big 12 South has become tougher than the SEC East--not just right now but as a solid trend.

Bob Stoops. Everybody loves Stoops as a game coach, but he hasn't gotten the credit he deserves as a recruiter. He's getting great players to go to Oklahoma. It's not like he's coaching the Little Sisters of the Poor to these championships.

Georgia. Was it a blip that the Dawgs won the SEC? No way. Because of Mark Richt--who unlike Jim Donnan can recruit and coach--the Dawgs are right there with Florida and Tennessee, and they're going to stay there a long ...
