Malaysia to stop supplying raw water to Singapore in 2061, says Syed Hamid.

PUTRAJAYA, Tues. - Malaysia will stop supplying raw water to Singapore when the republic's last water supply agreement with Kuala Lumpur expires in 2061, Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Syed Hamid Albar announced today.

He said both sides understood that the agreement due to expire in 2011 would not be extended, and the 2061 agreement would not be extended in the current situation.

"There is nothing to discuss about this any more because there is nothing to be agreed upon.

"The only thing in dispute now is the price of water," Syed Hamid told a Press conference at his office today.
