THE Courts of Judicature Constitutional Review Committee has recommended that the Chief Justice's term of office be limited to 10 years.

The committee recommended that any former Chief Justice who wishes to continue serving would only do so in a different capacity and on contract (supernumerally).

Justice Wako Wambuzi served 15 years as Chief Justice in the Movement Government before retiring. He had also served other brief terms under earlier governments.
