Taipei, Feb. 4 (CNA) Today is Tuesday, Feb. 4, or the fourth day of the first month of the Year of the Goat according to the lunar calendar. Following is a list of important events that have occurred on this date in the past:

1793: France abolishes slavery in all its territories.
