The High Court yesterday ruled that Chinachem Group chairwoman Nina Wang must pay a penalty legal fee for her lawyers' intentional slowness during the marathon court battle over tycoon Teddy Wang's will.

Wang Din-shin, Teddy Wang's father, had applied to the court seeking the order after the trial judge David Yam had earlier ordered Nina Wang to pay 85 per cent of legal fees arising from her failed legal battle over her late husband's fortune.

The amount of the penalty fee will be determined after Wang Din-shin's lawyers had submitted a claim to the court. Nina Wang's lawyers refused to comment …
