Kaohsiung, Jan. 6 (CNA) Minister of the Interior Yu Cheng-hsien said Monday that the possibility exists for a partial re-election of the Kaohsiung City Council given that quite a few councilors have pleaded guilty to accepting bribes in the city council speaker election.

Reporting at the Legislature's Committee of Interior Affairs, Yu stressed the government's determination to eliminate vote-buying, though it is by no means a easy task.

Yu said, however, that the vote-buying scandal may not lead to a full-fledged re-election of the Kaohsiung city council.
