ITEM: A December Knight Ridder report in the Tallahassee Democrat stated: "Emergency contraception, or the 'morning-after pill,' is playing a growing role in reducing abortions in the U.S. and may account for almost half of the recent decline in abortions, according to a new study by a leading reproductive-health research center."
CORRECTION: This study, by the research arm of Planned Parenthood, mocks scientific analysis and extrapolates from extremely dubious assumptions. The Alan Guttmacher Institute released its findings despite not knowing how many women were even taking the "morning-after pill." The researchers also admitted it was "unknown" ...
