Today, all aspects of filmmaking and distribution are changing. In fact, much of the ongoing "film" production uses film at only two stages--shooting the original footage and creating the final reels. Also, original footage can be captured using digital cameras, and processed, edited, and delivered digitally.
For movies still using film (and most do), dailies are scanned in at 2K (2048x1556 pixels) or 4K (4096x3112 pixels) resolution.
