Hull KR's assistant coach Whetu Taewa today stunned the Craven Park outfit by resigning from his position.
Taewa has quit his Robins post to return home to his native New Zealand because a close family friend is suffering from a serious illness.
"I am going back because I have a very sick friend and my wife and I thought it would be in everyone's best interests if we went home now, rather than have to go in the middle of the season," said Taewa.
Taewa joined Rovers from Super League side Sheffield Eagles where he picked up a Challenge Cup winners medal after victory over Wigan.
