The Federal Government has sent a formal congratulatory message to the re-elected Israeli Prime Minister, Ariel Sharon.

Receiving the new Israeli Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. Noam Katz, in his office on Thursday in Abuja, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Chief Dubem Onyia, said Nigeria expects Sharon to use his new mandate to hasten the return of peace in the Middle East.

Chief Onyia said the Nigerian Government is concerned about the seemingly unending violence in the Middle East, especially between Israel and Palestine, adding that Sharon should have no choice but to embrace …
