Computer Associates launches Brightstor ARCserve Backup 9.

It?s been in the making for almost three years, but Computer Associates (CA) is confident that the latest version of its Brightstor ARCserve Backup (version 9) is well worth the wait.
?We had over 1,000 beta testers worldwide and wanted to wait until all of them to said the product was ready before launching it,? said John Yang, director, channel and storage business, CA Asean.
According to a recent study by the University of California, Berkeley, it predicted that there would be 99.5 exabytes of data in 2005?meaning that more data will be created in the next three years than in all of recorded history. This explosive growth in data, coupled with rapidly changing technologies and interoperability issues with multiple vendors, has created chaos in storage management. ?Backup systems installed several years ago cannot handle today?s storage needs,? said John.
