TOKYO, Feb 4 Asia Pulse - Online payment settlement firm ecash corp. has begun to sell an e-commerce system that enables users to order goods via camera-equipped cellular phones.
With this system, cell phone cameras scan bar codes printed on posters and magazines, convert them into URLs, and then lead users to e-commerce sites that sell products. The company expects to win 500 corporate clients in the first year of business.
Businesses that register with the new service -- called Ubiquitous Commerce Management (UBCOMA) -- will pay an initial fee of 300,000 yen (US$2,494) and a monthly fee of 100,000 yen.
