MANILA, Feb 4 Asia Pulse - The Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) has officially asked Congress to revoke the 25-year franchise of Laoag International Airlines (LIA).
The recommendation was made after an investigation conducted by the agency showed that fuel starvation -- a problem attributed to pilot error - triggered the crash of the Laoag Air 585 in November last year.
In a letter to the Senate, Transportation and Communications Secretary Leandro Mendoza said the airline also failed to comply with certain air regulations. These were not enumerated.
