ANAHEIM ANGELS Scott Schoeneweis was the only proven lefty in the bullpen, so the club signed veteran LHP Rich Rodriguez to compete for a relief job in spring training. Rodriguez, 39, pitched for the Rangers in 2002, going 3-2 with a 5.40 ERA and one save in 36 games. Though Rodriguez has considerable experience, there are plenty of young pitchers in the organization with better arms.
