Come one come all to Salt Lake in April 2003 for the annual gathering of Supply Corps officer and enlisted personnel. The Supply Corps Workshop will be held for the first time ever in Salt Lake City, Utah, from Friday, April 11 to Sunday, April 13.
This year's theme, "Driving the Point Home--Honor, Courage, Commitment" is symbolized by the driving of the Golden Spike, which linked the transcontinental railroad at Promontory, Utah in 1869 where east and west came together. This will also coincide with the 60th anniversary of the commissioning of Naval Supply Depot Clearfield, Utah.
A commemoration ceremony, hosted by Clearfield City will be held at the former site of NSD Clearfield on April 10th.
NSD Clearfield was decommissioned in 1962 and is now a major economic and industrial area known as "Freeport Center." In its prime during World War II it was one of the largest naval facilities in the world, employing 7,000 people.
To make this year's workshop the best ever, form your teams and come a day or two early, ready to compete in our own Supply Corps Olympics, which will feature many of the same events at the same venues as the 2002 Olympic Winter Games, which was held earlier this year in Utah. On top of this we will be offering several career developing courses from Navy Supply Corps School Athens and Franklin Covey that can be attended with either, AT, IDTT or TDY orders.
