A newspaper editor and 42 others were charged over violent anti-Thai riots sparked by rumours that a Thai actress had insulted Cambodia.
In Chansivutha, 48, editor of Rasmei Angkor (Light of Angkor), was formally accused of inciting the riots by publishing false information, while 42 others were charged with destruction of property and looting.
The editor is the second journalist to be charged over inciting the riots, after Beehive Radio station owner Mam Sonando appeared in court Friday. Both men are being held in custody.
A total of 170 people have been arrested over the riots in Phnom Penh on Wednesday night, in which one person was killed as protesters stormed and torched the Thai embassy and Thai-owned hotels and businesses.
Aside from those charged Saturday and Mam Sonando, the others have been released while investigations continue, a police spokesman said.
