United Front As Perth Pathology Unit Prepares For Dundee Move.

Pathology laboratory services at Perth Royal Infirmary are to be moved to Dundee.

Staff at the laboratory are to be offered a transfer to Ninewells Hospital, Dundee, which will now serve the whole of Tayside.

The decision to transfer the laboratory, which plays a key role in the fight against cancer, was made yesterday at a meeting of Tayside NHS board following a protracted consultation process.

A report to the board revealed that the delay in making a decision had left the pathology department in a "critical" condition, with growing waiting lists.
