BHP Billiton's former CFO Charles "Chip" Goodyear has been appointed chief exec following the resignation of Brian Gilbertson due to "irreconcilable differences" with the company's board. Goodyear joined BHP in 1999 as CFO and has served as chief development officer since June 2001.
Equitable Life has named Nigel Brinn as finance and investments director following Charles Bellringer's departure after only six months in the position. Brinn was previously chief exec of Homeowners Friendly Society.
Niall Howard is the new FD of whisky company William Grant & Sons, taking over from Paul Dollman who left the company in October 2002 to join John Menzies as FD. Howard previously spent nine years in senior roles at Royal Bank of Scotland.
Set-top box maker Pace Micro Technology has named FD John Dyson as acting chief exec until a successor to Malcolm Miller is found.
Building products company RMC Group has named Adrian Auer as group FD, after Bob Lambourne's resignation by mutual agreement. Auer was group FD at Taylor Woodrow until October 2002, and has held a number of senior financial roles including spells at BP and ICI.
Former National Express Group FD William Rollason has been appointed chief exec of retail group Kleeneze. He also served as FD at Marling Industries between 1988 and 1992.
