TAIPEI, Jan 2 Asia Pulse - Taiwan Power Company (Taipower) Chairman Lin Neng-pai said that the state-run firm will continue to look for a new site to store its nuclear waste since it has all but given up putting it on the outlying island of Wuchiu.
Taipower's lease to store the waste on Orchid Island expired Dec. 31, 2002. Some local residents staged a protest Wednesday, urging Taipower to remove the waste quickly.
