THIS IS CHRISTOPHER KOCH'S first book of nonfiction for a while (his 1987 collection of essays, Crossing the Gap, was reprinted recently, however). A journey into the Irishness at the centre of Koch's own writing and spirit, it is also a journey into the heart of what it means to be Irish, both in the past and now.
