A BOWL OF SOUP 
 
   "But Great Snakes!" Quex clutched his forehead, 
   thunderstruck, 
   "What you told us in the billiard room was true! 
   "As the moon rose all the natives ran amok, 
   "And beheaded several members of the crew. 
   "'Twas their filthy lingo made us come unstuck 
   "Though I never wholly trusted Pettigrew. 
   "When the speedboat wasn't there, he rammed the 
   punt, 
   "Suffering major structural damage in the shunt." 
 
   It's not an ostrich, it's a ruddy duck, 
   It's not a bison, it's a caribou, 
   It's not a taxi, it's a railway truck, 
   It's not viridian, it's electric blue, 
   It's not old Robin Hood, it's Friar Tuck, 
   It's not a dansak, it's a vindaloo,
