In all my 54 years, I could never understand how a group of people as intelligent and good-hearted as the German people could allow Hitler to carry out the Holocaust. Now, thanks to William Norman Grigg's article ("From Republic to Reich," October 7, 2002 issue), the answer seems obvious.
