Jason Kapono, F, UCLA

Jason Kapono played in the past three Sweet 16s, but he has a more immediate goal this season--trying to make sure this doesn't go down as one of UCLA's worst teams ever. Kapono scored 59 points and led his team in assists (11 total) in two games last week as the Bruins opened the Pac-10 season with road victories at Washington and Washington State. His 44 against the Cougars topped his previous career high by 16 points, and only Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (Lew Alcindor) has scored more in a Bruins uniform. Entering conference play, UCLA had dropped three straight in which Kapono hit just three of 16 3-pointers.
