A swimming pool in Aberdeen has been closed after high levels of bacteria were detected in the water.

Tests were carried out at Northfield swimming pool yesterday after two people complained of minor skin irritations after using the facility on Wednesday night.

An external firm was called in after routine tests, carried out by staff, failed to reveal anything unusual.

But the firm's tests revealed increased levels of the pseudomonas bacteria in the pool.

Technical problems with the pool's filtration system have been identified, but it is not known whether these are linked to the increased …
