2003 International CES
LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 9, 2003
In a move to bolster its presence in key international markets, MobileWise announced a preliminary agreement with Mitsui & Co., Japan's largest Sogo Shosha (general trading company) to exclusively distribute MobileWise's products in Japan.
In the fall of 2002, MobileWise, a fabless semiconductor company, introduced a solution to the Last Wire(tm) problem - the dependency on regularly plugging in mobile devices for electric power. With MobileWise technology and products, consumers no longer need multiple chargers, adapters and cords. Its technology is already embedded into chipsets that are sold to leading mobile, networking and power accessories OEMs.
MobileWise chipsets enable sophisticated wire-free electric power management and delivery to multiple mobile devices, as well as, home and office appliances with a variety of power needs, by delivering safe, convenient, and instant power. The first MobileWise application is the Wire-Free-Electricity Base(tm), a universal power delivery interface. Once a MobileWise-enabled device is placed anywhere on the base, it will be powered and charged as if it is plugged directly to an electric outlet. The Wire-Free-Electricity Base can simultaneously power multiple devices with varying power needs.
"We are very happy to work with MobileWise", says Mr. Yoshikazu Uno, General Manager, Electronics Product Division, Electronics Business Group at Mitsui & Co., Ltd. "Early on we recognized that MobileWise' technology has a tremendous appeal to the Japanese consumer electronics market. We at Mitsui are very committed to make MobileWise products available to a variety of manufacturers in Japan".
