Because regents for the school are elected and the only woman to run was defeated for re-election, the University of Nebraska will again have no women members. In its 133-years, only four woman have ever been on the board.

Nebraska is one of only four states that elect the entire governing board for its major public universities. The others are Nevada, Colorado and Michigan.
