THE New Year got off to the best of starts today for six families with the birth of babies in Northern Ireland hospitals.
Altnagelvin Hospital recorded the first Ulster baby of the New Year, with another born soon after, and maternity staff at the Royal Victoria in Belfast and the Ulster Hospital in Dundonald also delivered two babies at each hospital.
